You’ll be fabricating, modifying, and finishing high-quality metal components to precise technical specifications ferrous and non ferrous. Mainly MIG light to medium fabrication, some TIG experience would be regarded favourably.
- Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and job orders
- Experience operating CNC laser cutting machines advantageous.
- Operating brake press experience would also be advantageous.
- Setting up and adjusting tools and machine controls for production runs
- Performing accurate measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments
- Checking finished parts for conformance to specifications and making necessary adjustments
- Cutting, grinding, shaping, and finishing metal using hand tools and power equipment
- Maintaining workplace safety and cleanliness in accordance with WHS guidelines
Skills & Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience as a boilermaker/fabricator
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings
- Competence in using precision measurement tools and ensuring tight tolerances
- High level of attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
- Physical fitness to work in a hands-on workshop environment
Desirable Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent)
