LANDSCAPER / GARDENER – LEAD HAND
Do you want to work with a small team of professionals, using modern equipment to maintain 20 manicured acres of garden in an idyllic country setting? This position is a golden opportunity for either an experienced Lead Hand or somebody ready to take that next step up in their horticultural career. The position reports to the on site Property Manager and although initially casual part time the scope exists to further advance your career to permanent full time.

The Role
• Garden maintenance – Including safe operation of tools and chemical pesticides
• Landscaping – Softscape, Hardscape & Irrigation
• Water management – Maintenance of irrigation systems and water allocation
• Building maintenance – General handyperson duties and property maintenance
• Maintain organisation and upkeep of workshop and machinery
• Coordinate casual contractors and trades people
Key Requirements:
Essential Skills / Experience
• MR Licence and experience in operating various construction and agricultural plant and vehicles
• ChemCert ticket or willingness to obtain
• Garden and land maintenance experience
• Competent building maintenance skills
Highly Desirable
• Mechanical experience / skills
• Administrative Skills
• Trade background in landscaping or other
• Farm management / animal husbandry / water management experience
The Successful Candidate will have
• Highly Developed Organisational Skills
• Ability to think independently and work autonomously
• A Self-Starter with the ability to ‘hit the ground running’
• Exceptional decision-making skills

The key areas of the role are

• Develop and maintain business relationships with customers to ensure continued growth and success
• Support your technician with administrational tasks
• Email & call clients & build a positive rapport with them
• Arrange the technician’s meetings
• Enter sales into the internal sales program
• Update client’s details in the contact management system

The remuneration for this position will include a base salary and a commission portion.

The commission portion of your salary will be based on your internal sales goals, making you an integral part of this highly driven sales team.

You must be able to listen as well as you can talk, be able to adapt your style to suit different situations and personalities and have the ability to support the technician with their administrational needs.
